The EU Parliament and Council have voted to accept revisions to the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive.
The revised EPB Directive is an important component of the EUs Fit for 55 package. Energy consumption in buildings accounts for 35% of all Carbon emissions in the EU.
- The Directive sets out a number of ambitions:
accelerate the renovation and decarbonisation of existing buildings
reducing the energy consumption of buildings
ensuring that the energy that consumed is from renewable sources.
